A defined jawline is a coveted facial feature, but if genetics aren’t on your side, you may feel like achieving that sculpted jawline is out of reach. There is a way to define your jawline, and we can do it here at South Bay Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center in Torrance, CA with a customized jawline contouring treatment plan. We offer different techniques to sculpt and redefine your jawline and improve your facial aesthetics and confidence in your appearance.
A contoured jawline is well within your reach, and we can help you achieve it with two different techniques. Both are safe and provide an excellent solution for those who want to enhance their features by contouring their jawlines.
We offer treatments with dermal fillers to temporarily improve the appearance of the jawline. We also offer a more permanent solution with fat grafting that requires liposuction to harvest your body’s natural fat cells, which will then be grafted into the jawline to contour the area.
Based on your preferences and your ultimate goals, we can design a treatment plan with one of these techniques to sculpt and redefine your jawline so that you can enjoy long-lasting results.
Dermal fillers inject immediate volume into different areas of the face to fill hollow areas and enhance facial features. We can use dermal fillers to perform jawline contouring treatments for those who want a temporary yet long-lasting solution to improve the appearance of their profile.
Our Filler Options
We offer two types of dermal fillers at South Bay Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center: hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers and collagen-stimulating dermal fillers. Each delivers long-lasting results but works differently.
Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are made with synthetic hyaluronic acid particles that resemble what the body creates naturally. These gel-based fillers can create new contours and add immediate and long-lasting definition to the face.
Collagen-stimulating fillers use an active ingredient that stimulates natural collagen production in the body. These fillers force the body to grow new collagen in specific areas where they’re injected to add volume and definition and create new contours.
When Will I See the Results?
Once we develop your unique treatment plan, we can give you a better idea of what kind of results you can expect. If we use hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers to contour your jawline, you’ll see immediate results that will continue to improve in the week following treatment.
If we use collagen-stimulating fillers, you’ll see some immediate results, but the best results will appear within the first several weeks of treatment as your body works to grow new collagen to sculpt, contour, and define your jawline.
How Long Do They Last?
Dermal fillers provide a temporary yet long-lasting solution for those who want to contour their jawline. Depending on the product, you can expect to maintain results for one to two years or longer.
Is There Downtime?
There’s no significant downtime after treatment with dermal fillers. You will be asked to avoid specific environments and activities, including anything that increases your body temperature, like strenuous workouts, hot yoga sessions, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tub use.
We will also give you instructions on how to care for the treatment sites, what products and treatments to discontinue temporarily as the filler settles within the skin tissue, and to avoid excess sun exposure.
Can They Be Combined With Other Treatments?
Dermal fillers can be combined with other treatments. We can address other areas of your face with a dermal filler treatment plan to restore volume to specific areas, lift and plump the skin, fill hollow areas, and create a youthful appearance.
Liposuction and Fat Grafting
We can also perform jawline contouring treatments using liposuction and fat grafting. This method provides a permanent solution for those who want to improve the appearance of their jawlines. The procedure requires patients to choose a donor site from which we will remove healthy, living fat cells to graft into the jawline to contour the area.
How It Works
Typically patients choose an area with excess fat cells that they are not happy with, such as the abdomen, buttocks, hips, or thighs. We use liposuction to carefully remove fat cells from one area of the body and then prepare them for fat grafting into the jawline.
The benefit of this method is that not only will you achieve a sculpted jawline post-treatment, but you’ll also improve another body area and significantly decrease the total fat volume in what was once a problem area.
How Long Does It Last?
The method of using liposuction and fat grafting for jawline contouring is intended to deliver permanent results. We take every measure to ensure the highest success rate when transferring fat cells from one area of the body to the jawline so that you can achieve your desired results.
Is There Downtime?
Liposuction and fat grafting for jawline contouring require minimal downtime. You will be advised to follow some post-procedure care instructions. Most patients can resume normal activities within one to two weeks of the procedure. We will give you specific pre-and post-procedure instructions so that you know how to prepare your body for liposuction and fat grafting and how to care for the treatment sites after the procedure is complete.
